Peggy Frank outraises Del. Dave Nutter for the April 1 - May 27 Reporting Period

For those of you who remember the 2007 House of Delegates race between Peggy Frank and Del. Dave Nutter in the 7th, Peggy came real close to pulling off the upset. As I posted earlier in the list of House of Delegates races I'm watching, the 7th is one that has the potential to go Democratic this time. Peggy Frank only lost this race by only 684 votes to Dave Nutter.

Peggy is off to a good start in fundraising for her second race against Dave Nutter. According to VPAP and the Press Release I received from her campaign, for "the period Peggy Frank reported total receipts of $28,148, including cash contributions of $16,695 from 96 donors. Peggy Frank out raised her opponent by $2,595, who reported cash contributions of $14,100 from 28 donors and total receipts of $15,055. The reports published on June 1 included the period from April 1 through May 27, 2009."

If Democrats are going to take back the House of Delegates, one to two of the pick-up will have to be in House Districts west of Richmond. The 7th House District is a winnable District with a large number of unemployed workers due to massive layoffs at Volvo and the other businesses that rely on those workers spending money at those businesses. Dave Nutter strongly defends his vote to turn away the extension in unemployment benefits that would have immediately helped these folks.

Please visit Peggy Frank's web site and contribute to her campaign as generously as you can.
